Friday 15.03.19

Today was our last day at Tlamatlama primary school and we were greeted by all the children singing and dancing for us. We were given lots of cards to thank us for our visit and for teaching them. At 11 o'clock we were able to Skype Bruche and the children at both schools were able to meet. They were so excited to see each other and couldn't wait to ask lots of questions about each other. It was lovely to see the relationships building.

At 12 oclock all the delegates that came to South Africa met at a school in East Rand. A celebration of our stay took place with lots of speeches from all of the different Headteachers here in South Africa. We then gave individual presentations about the project that we have been working on all week. The topic 'gender equality' was an excellent project that gave both partner schools an insight into the children's life, culture and beliefs. We presented our findings to all that attended this celebration. We thanked Tlamatlama for making both Miss Lewis and Miss Kerrigan so welcome and making us feel at home. As a thank you gift from the staff at Tlamatlama we were given a mug for every member of staff at Bruche with our picture on and a picture of both schools emblems. We are so grateful for this partnership and we are looking forward to seeing what the future will bring.
