Chess

25th September 2015
Children in years 4, 5 and 6 are learning to play chess this year.  We have a chess teacher, Miss May,  who visits us to teach us how the game works and how we can think ahead, and use strategy to beat our opponent.  The children are learning not just about the pieces and how to play the game, but also the etiquette (or manners) used when playing.  We always shake hands, we always congratulate our opponent whether we win or lose and we only use special 'chess voices'.
