Easter Assembly

5th April 2017
Easter Assembly
Reverend Coles joined us this morning to share the Easter Story.  We welcomed him by singing 'Hosannah' and he explained to us how this song is important.  As we listened to Reverend Coles, the children joined in to share their knowledge of Holy week and we built a shared understanding about some of the things that we take for granted about Easter.  Did you know that Kings traditionally rode into Jerusalem on a war horse or that the empty chocolate egg represents the empty tomb on Easter Sunday?  Although we enjoyed listening to the story, we were reminded about bad things happening in Syria and we remembered people in this region in our Easter prayer.  Chocolate is what we enjoy at Easter, but we know that the real meaning of Easter is much more, it is all about hope and love.

After the assembly, Reverend Coles looked at the entries made by the children for the Easter competition - winners will be announced in the special Friday assembly.
